I was born in England where my love affair with animals began. I received on the job training in all aspects of boarding, obedience training, breeding, etc. On coming to Canada, I lived in Ontario where I managed a show kennel; training, handling and showing Afghan Hounds and Norwegian Elkhounds. Later I bred, trained and showed Labrador Retrievers. I also have a love of Burmese cats and have bred and showed them as well.
My lifelong journey in animal care includes an extensive background spanning 30 years in veterinary management where I performed technical and administrative duties. Other past experience includes working with Guide Dogs for the Blind and training dogs for hunting and field trials. My professional background includes numerous workshops in all aspects of animal management, nutrition, grooming and certified pet first aid. I look forward to discussing your pets' needs, quirks and unique personality with you.
Sincerely, Carolyn Beard
Almost seven years ago, on the glowing recommendation of a friend, we left our new 1 1/2 year old black lab, Turner, with Country Comfort Pet Care. We have been grateful clients and raving fans ever since.
Country Comfort is truly a dog paradise. At least, that's the sense we get every time we drop Turner off to stay. No sooner do we put the car into "park" than Turner is out the door and barking at the gate to be let into the beautiful, large, and fully fenced yard.
You could not choose a more caring and wonderful place for your dog, than Country Comfort Pet Care. Our mixed breed, Rodger, has been going there regularly for 2 1/2 years and LOVES it. He has been there for daycare and for longer boarding stays and we have no worries, believing that he is having way more fun than we are. Carolyn provides attention to his needs and truly treats him like one of the family.
Carolyn Beard worked at my Animal Hospital for over 20 years as lead receptionist and office manager. She is a wonderful, caring person and is great with people and animals. She has bred and showed Labrador Retrievers and Burmese cats for many years and so is used to having a houseful of animals. She is very organized and devoted to wonderful pet care. I was very sad to lose a great employee due to her move to the interior.
Can't possibly thank you enough for the care, communication, and laughs with the girls! You're a gem! What an attentive caretaker! Kudos!
